The Leader of Opposition’s penchant for adventure bikes is not new as earlier too he was spotted riding a KTM 390 Adventure in Ladakh
Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and former Congress President, checked out the upcoming BMW F 450 GS during his visit to BMW Welt and the BMW Plant in Munich, Germany. He also took the guided tour of BMW’s manufacturing facility during his 3-day visit to the European country. The F 450 GS is slated to launch next month, i.e. January 2026, in the Indian market. It will be the company’s entry-level adventure bike in India as it locks horns with the likes of Kawasaki Versys-X 300, KTM 390 Adventure and Royal Enfield Himalayan 450.
In a reel posted on his official Instagram handle, the LoP said, “A highlight was seeing TVS’s 450cc motorcycle, developed in partnership with BMW. Proud moment to see Indian engineering on display.” Just so you know, the F 450 GS is being developed at TVS factory in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. It is likely to come at a sticker price of around Rs 4.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
BMW F 450 GS had its world premiere at the EICMA 2025 in Milan, Italy. The tubular frame of the ADV motorcycle is suspended by KYB-sourced USD telescopic front forks and double-sided rear swing arm with adjustable spring preload and rebound damping. It rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels which are shod with 100/90 and 130/80-17 tubeless tyres, respectively.

The overall styling of the bike is quite aggressive with a sleeker tail section. It flaunts LED headlight with “X” daytime riding light upfront while there is an upswept stainless steel silencer at the rear. The braking duties are performed by disc units at both the ends. The F 450 GS has a standard saddle height of 845 mm. However, buyers can also opt for lower (830 mm) and higher (865 mm) seats.
In terms of features, the F 450 GS boasts of a 6.5-inch instrument console with TFT display and Bluetooth connectivity which gives access to navigation, music playback and phone calls. The ADV bike also gets Ride Modes (Rain, Road, Enduro, and Enduro Pro), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Easy Ride Clutch (ERC), Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) and ABS Pro as standard.

At the heart, it has the 420cc twin-cylinder water-cooled engine which develops top power of 47 bhp and highest torque of 43 Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with top speed pegged at 165 kmph. This is not the first time that Rahul Gandhi is seen with bikes as earlier too he was spotted riding the KTM 390 Adventure on his way to Pangong Lake in Ladakh.
