Now in its 6th year of providing quality products and service to bikers of realms of the power-band, right from the novice class all the way to the apex liter class and above Probiker indeed has carved a niche for itself. Situated at the apex end of M.G. road very few of its patrons know the beginnings of this store. So our Pune guy Savio gets down to the store and got the story in the founder’s voice.
In conversation with Ashwin Agarwal- founder of Probiker helmets & Accessories, he revealed that on 7th August 2008 when Girdhari Chandak (DIRECTOR –Vega Helmets) inaugurated the store the sole purpose being not only “business as usual” but a hobby as he always had a penchant for riding and riding gear alike.
A few years prior to the existence of the store when his helmet saved him in an accident he chanced upon the idea of a one of a kind store that would aim to cater to the biking enthusiast of all economic classes.
Starting off primarily with just helmets today Probiker has to its name:
- 25+ brands and 250+ helmets on its racks to showcase
- The helmets range right from those for children right up to the Moto GP class of riders
- DOT, ISI and SNELL amongst others, are the standards most helmets stocked
- Apart from helmets, there are over 8 to 10 major apparel and accessories brands that are housed at the store
Not just riders from the different classes of the biking fraternity regularly shop here but also major riding groups haunt this place as well. Well known and respected riders from the following groups amongst others share space on the wall of Probiker’s founder and long term customers:
