On the occasion of Pongal 2026, Ather Energy has introduced Tamil as the third regional language on the dashboard interface of the Rizta Z
Ather Energy has added the Tamil language on the dashboard of the Rizta Z as a part of Pongal 2026 celebration in the country. With this new update, the Tamil speaking riders can switch their dashboard interface to Tamil for better understanding and functioning. It will be rolled out as an over-the-air (OTA) update across the entire Rizta Z range in a phased manner, starting Feb 2026. Last year, Ather announced that Rizta Z dash will support eight regional languages namely Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
The Bengaluru-based EV brand first launched the Hindi language which was later joined by Kannada and now it has added Tamil into the dashboard interface of the Rizta Z in the Indian market. As seen in the recent trends, the riders prefer digital content in their native languages and hence this move from the company will benefit numerous riders.
Speaking on the announcement, Ravneet Singh Phokela, CBO, Ather Energy, said, “Tamil Nadu has been an important market for Ather from the beginning, both in terms of our manufacturing presence and our growing rider base. As Rizta continues to see strong adoption and has recently crossed the 2 lakh sales milestone, it becomes important for the product to feel familiar and easy to use for riders across regions. Building local language support into the Rizta experience has been a deliberate part of how we think about creating a seamless ownership experience.”

Ather Rizta, presented as the company’s first family electric scooter, is offered in two trims namely S and Z with IDC range of 123 km and 159 km, respectively. It gets 34 litres under seat storage area and an optional 22 litres frunk accessory. The floorboard too is quite spacious as it provides decent legroom for the rider as well as small belongings.
Ather Rizta is packed with a plethora of advanced features in the form of SkidControl, Live Location Sharing, Ping My Scooter (Rizta Z only), Fall Safe, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) and Tow & Theft Alerts. In Aug 2025 at the Annual Community Day, the company announced that it will bring the touchscreen functionality for the Rizta range.

Ather Rizta is not only sold in India but also in multiple global markets, including Nepal and Sri Lanka. Presently, Ather Energy has more than 524 Experience Centres (dealerships) across the country. The Rizta is also available with the BaaS subscription model which reduces the upfront pricing by up to a huge extent as is priced at just Rs 75,999 (ex-showroom).
