Ola Electric has launched the all-new S1Z electric scooter in the Indian market. It has been introduced with 3.1 kWh and 5.1 kWh battery pack options at introductory prices of Rs 79,999 and Rs 99,999 (ex-showroom), respectively. The electric scooter is powered by the brand’s self-developed indigenous Bharat Cell LFP technology. Ola S1Z 3.1 kWh will be delivered to the customers from Dec 2026 onwards while Ola 5.1 kWh deliveries are scheduled to commence from Mar 2027. It will be the company’s entry-level e-scooter to rival the likes of Hero Vida VX2 and TVS Orbiter in India.
The S1Z gets Ola’s indigenous 46 series LFP cell platform technology which has been developed at its Battery Innovation Centre and manufactured at the Gigafactory. The 3.1 kWh and 5.1 kWh variants return IDC ranges of up to 179 km and 301 km, respectively. Ola S1Z electric scooter will be available in four colour schemes namely White, Anthracite, Sky Splash Blue and Matcha Green.
The brand claimed that it has been able to significantly lower battery costs by developing and manufacturing its Bharat Cell LFP technology in-house. For those asing, battery is the single largest cost component of an electric vehicle. The electric scooter rides on 12-inch wheels as standard across both the variants. Ola Electric claimed that S1Z stands for getting ‘more’ or ‘Zyada’ in terms of safety, range, technology and value.
Powered by the latest MoveOS 5, Ola S1Z comes with several bells and whistles in the form of cruise control, advanced regenerative braking, reverse mode, GPS, and over-the-air (OTA) software updates. In addition, the riders have access to geo, time and mode fencing, ride statistics and energy insights through the Ola Electric app which is available on both iOS and Android.
Ola S1Z electric scooter is also packed with ‘Easy Park’ function, which allows the riders to get in and out of tight parking spaces with a simple twist of the wrist. It will be the first model to be sold through Ola’s first dealer-operated stores, beyond a company-owned retail network. The company intends to have a full-fledged dealership footprint by Diwali 2026.
