Ola Gig, Ola Gig+, Ola S1 Z, and Ola S1 Z+ have been launched at introductory prices of Rs 39,999, Rs 49,999, Rs 59,999, and Rs 64,999, respectively.
Ola Electric has launched an exciting range of new scooters with detachable battery pack in the Indian market. The Bengaluru-based EV brand has introduced Ola Gig, Ola Gig+, Ola S1 Z, and Ola S1 Z+ at introductory prices of Rs 39,999, Rs 49,999, Rs 59,999, and Rs 64,999, respectively.
The deliveries for Ola Gig and Ola S1 Z will commence from April 2025 and May 2025, respectively, in India. In addition, it has also presented Ola PowerPod, an inverter made out of Ola scooter’s portable battery, to charge small household appliances at price of Rs 9,999.
Ola Gig
The Gig e-scooter has specifically been offered for gig workers, as indicated by the name. Equipped with a removable battery of 1.5 kWh, it returns an IDC-certified range of 112 km along with a top speed of 25kmph. Some of the notable features of Ola Gig are 12-inch tyres, a hub motor and lowest booking amount of Rs 499. The e-scooter will only be sold for rentals and B2B operations.
Ola Gig+
The Gig+ electric scooter is an advanced version of the Gig with higher range and top speed. It can be availed with single/dual battery packs of 1.5 kWh with each delivering range of 81 km on a single charge. Hence, the highest IDC-certified range of Ola Gig+ is 157 km. In addition, it houses a hub motor with maximum power output of 1.5 kWh, which propels it to a top speed of 45kmph. Identical to the Gig electric scooter, it will be exclusive for B2B purchases and rentals.
Ola S1 Z
Ola Electric has further extended the S1 range of e-scooters by introducing the all-new S1 Z in the Indian market. Being the brand’s first electric scooter with swappable battery pack, it is powered by a 2.9 kW hub motor. Ola S1 Z does a 0-20kmph sprint in 1.8 seconds while it accelerates from 0-40kmph in merely 4.8 seconds. The electric scooter gets two 1.5 kWh batteries with a total range of 146 km (75 km X 2) on a single charge. Ola Electric is offering it with a physical key, LCD display and top speed of 70kmph.
Ola S1 Z+
Last but not the least, the most advanced and premium e-scooter out of the total four launched today is the S1 Z+. Though the range, top speed and 0-20kmph & 0-40kmph sprint time are almost identical to the S1 Z, it rides on bigger 14-inch tyres. It also comes packed with two detachable batteries of 1.5 kWh each. Ola Electric states that it is an ideal choice for small business owners, local shopkeepers, and individuals involved in light to medium commercial activities.
Ola PowerPod
Ola PowerPod is a small inverter made out of the electric scooter portable battery pack which can be used to power small household appliances. The 1.5 kWh battery returns a maximum output of 500W which is adequate to run 5 LED bulbs, 3 ceiling fans, 1 TV, 1 Mobile charging, and 1 Wi-Fi router. Ola PowerPod could be quite useful in rural areas with limited access to electricity.
