So, the time finally arrives! Royal Enfield has officially confirmed the launch of the much awaited 500cc version of ThunderBird on Thursday 11th of October.
Royal Enfield showcased the bike first at this year’s Auto Expo in Delhi and since then we have been asked innumerable times about its possible launch in India by our readers. ThunderBird Twinspark would be powered by a single cylinder 499cc Air Cooled engine which would belt out 27.2bhp of power at 5250 rpm and a max torque of 41.3Nm at 4000 rpm.
The ThunderBird 500 would come with projector headlamps and we do hope the company launches the matte black version it showcased at the Auto Expo. ThunderBird 500 would be one important launch by the company after their Classic 350 and 500 were pretty well received by the thump-loving souls. Pricing would be an important parameter which would also decide ThunderBird’s future.
The launch would take place in Mumbai and would be presided over by Mr. Siddhartha Lal, MD and CEO of Eicher Motors Ltd. and Dr. Venki Padmanabhan, CEO of Royal Enfield. Keep tuned to BikeAdvice as we would bring to you all the updates as and when they happen.
