The Scram 440 will replace the ongoing model of the Scram 411 in the Indian market with a more powerful engine and new color choices
The Motoverse 2024 begins from Nov 22 in Goa and Royal Enfield is ready to spring a surprise for the motorcycling community. We have learnt from reliable sources that the brand will unveil the all-new Scram 440 with a new air-cooled petrol engine tomorrow. Just so you know, Royal Enfield Scram 411 has been on sale for the past three years and the new Scram 440 will replace it in the Indian market. Besides a bigger and more powerful engine, the upcoming new motorcycle will also get cosmetic makeover and new color schemes.
The sources closer to the development stated that the all-new Scram 440 is likely to use the same 411cc single-cylinder engine of the Scram 411, albeit with a bigger bore. However, earlier reports claimed that Royal Enfield has developed a new 443cc engine (LS443) from the 411cc motor and it is expected to churn out more power and torque than the Scram 411’s engine. The 5-speed transmission will be retained from the Scram 411.
Royal Enfield could also make subtle updates to the chassis in order to make the Scram 440 more compatible for city rides. Though most of elements are believed to be carried over from the Scram 411. The instrument cluster could be revised but it appears highly unlikely that the Scram 440 will be equipped with a TFT unit as seen on the Himalayan 450.
Royal Enfield Scram 440 price announcement could take place in the first half of 2025. The bookings and deliveries could also commence around the same time in the country. The Chennai-based brand could launch the Scram 440 in a price range of Rs 2.10-2.25 lakh (ex-showroom). It is no-brainer that Royal Enfield will offer a host of accessories with the Scram 440.
Royal Enfield has already unveiled the Goan Classic 350, its first Bobber motorcycle in the 350cc segment, ahead of the Motoverse 2024. The company will announce the price of the Goan Classic 350 at the event as it goes on sale shortly. It is also expected to showcase the highly-anticipated Classci 650 and Bear 650 at the Motoverse 2024. Both the aforementioned motorcycles had their global debut earlier this month at the EICMA 2024 in Milan, Italy.
Royal Enfield has already launched two all-new motorcycles for the Indian market in the last 12 months. While the all-new Himalayan 450 debuted in Nov last year, the Guerrilla 450 came earlier this year.
