Indian Motorcycle has launched their latest Springfield in India and has priced it at Rs 31,07,770 ex-showroom in Gurgaon. The pricing for Gurgaon is Rs 31.07 lakhs (ex-showroom). Named after the birthplace of the brand, Springfield is a highly versatile product which can be used as a cruiser or tourer. Yes, the quick release windshield and all weather, remote locking hard saddlebags are removable!
Powering the bike is the same Thunder Stroke 111 engine displacing 1,811 cc which churns out 138.9 Nm of peak torque at 2,600 rpm. With close resemblance to the Chief Vintage, the Springfield separates itself with a different trunk compatible chassis. Features like rear buckhorn bar, adjustable passenger floorboards, ABS, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic cruise control, powerful headlight and dual riding lights are present to pamper the rider.
The split seat, featuring a unique stitch pattern, can likewise be trimmed down to create a tight and low solo look, giving the Indian Springfield a truly dual personality. Tourers can use the 64 litre saddlebags to carry all what they want. The Springfield doesn’t appear to be developed as a space filler in the line-up but be a delight to the riders who value the rich heritage and fine craftsmanship of the brand.
The fuel capacity is the same 20.8 litres while the ground clearance is 142 mm. The bike weighs 372 kg (dry) and has a wheelbase of 1,701 mm. It also gets a low 660 mm saddle height which should allow for an easy handling of this heavy bike.
