New Hero Vida Electric Scooter Launch on July 1, 2025 – Could it be VX2?

Vida VX2 was trademarked earlier this year by Hero along with its variants namely Vida VX2 Pro, Vida VX2 Plus and Vida VX2 Go in the Indian market.

Hero MotoCorp will launch two new electric scooters on July 1, 2025 in the Indian market. The company has sent us a ‘Block Your Date’ invite for the same, indicating that it will expand the existing Vida range of e-scooters with new models. We earlier reported that the brand is planning to introduce an affordable electric scooter for masses to rival Bajaj Chetak, Ola S1 and TVS iQube. Recently, it also filed a trademark for ‘Vida VX2’ moniker in India. In fact, Hero also trademarked its three variants namely Vida VX2 Pro, Vida VX2 Plus and Vida VX2 Go.

Earlier this year, Hero MotoCorp had showcased the Vida Z at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi. The company claims that the Vida Z electric scooter is a premium global e-scooter which will cater to domestic as well as overseas buyers. Now, a few media reports claim that the Vida VX2 could simply be the rebadged version of the Vida Z in India.

Though Hero has also patented the ‘Vida Z’ nameplate in India but unlike the VX2, it has not filed a trademark application for its variants. Furthermore, the Vida Z had its public debut at the EICMA 2024 in Milan, Italy. Since then, it has been spotted during its test runs multiple times in and around Jaipur, where the company has its production facility. On the other hand, the Vida VX2 has not been captured on camera yet. Therefore, it strengthens the belief that Vida Z will be rebranded as Vida VX2, at least for the Indian market.

Hero MotoCorp is likely to use the Vida Z nameplate for any of its fresh models in near future in India. So, if at all, the Vida Z is introduced as Vida VX2 in our country with three variants namely VX2 Pro, VX2 Plus and VX2 Go, then we can expect the entry-level variant to carry a 2.2 kWh battery pack while the range-topping trim could be equipped with two battery packs with combined capacity of 3.4 kWh. The range could be near 100 km on a full charge.

Hero Vida VX2 will be presented as a highly affordable electric scooter in India as compared to the Vida V2. Despite sharing the removable battery units with the V2, the VX2 could be offered with slightly less power output against the 6 kW of V2. The VX2 will be packed with a direct drive permanent magnet motor.

While the Vida V2 is a modern e-scooter with striking design, the VX2 (rebadged Z) flaunts a minimalistic styling with a family-oriented image. It boasts of a rectangle-shaped headlamp, storage pocket in front apron, connectivity functions, TFT display, rear backrest and USB charging port. We can expect all these features when the scooter goes on sale in July 2025.
