New Hero-Harley 440 Bike India Launch in Dec 2025

The third 440cc bike co-developed by Hero and Harley will debut next month in the Indian market

Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson will launch a new motorcycle next month in the Indian market. This will be the third model to emerge from the Hero-Harley partnership after the X440 and Mavrick 440. The new bike will be co-developed by Hero and Harley while based on the X440’s engine platform. It was originally supposed to launch in Sep 2025 but the launch was delayed by a couple of months due to the slew of resignations in the company. The world’s largest two-wheeler brand, Hero MotoCorp, had joined hands with the America-based Harley Davidson in 2020.

On Aug 7, Vikram Kasbekar, CEO, Hero MotoCorp, announced during the investors call that the third motorcycle born out of Hero-Harley alliance will be launched in Q2 FY26. It could well be the Scrambler version of the Mavrick 440, which has been christened as the Hunk 440 SX. It was showcased to the world at the EICMA 2025 in Milan, Italy.

For those asking, Hero Mavrick 440 was discontinued from the Indian market in Aug 2025 due to poor sales. The roadster went on sale in Feb 2024 and could survive for just one and a half years in the domestic market. It is still unclear whether the new 440cc motorcycle will be introduced under ‘Hero’ branding or it will carry the Harley badging.

The Jaipur-based two-wheeler brand had earlier filed design patents for the scrambler model of the Mavrick 440 in the Indian market. If Hero decides to launch it at all, the scrambler will directly rival Royal Enfield Scram 440 in the country. The Scrambler gets premium hardware over the roadster version and it could be priced higher than Mavrick 440.

It is also highly possible that Hero Mavrick 440 is reintroduced in the country with upmarket features such as TFT instrument cluster and USD front forks. The company might also roll out some fresh paint schemes as well. The facelifted model could be more expensive than the discontinued version of the roadster, which was priced between Rs 1.99-2.25 lakh (ex-showroom).

Last but not the least, Hero Xpulse 440 could also be unveiled in the Indian market next month. It was briefly teased at the EICMA 2024 and we expected Hero to present the bike at this edition of Milan Motorshow Show earlier this month. However, Hero didn’t reveal the Xpulse 440 at the EICMA 2025 and hence, it might showcase the Xpulse 440 concept in Dec 2025 on Indian soil.
