New-Gen Suzuki Gixxer Range India Launch by 2026 End

The new-gen version of all the four models namely Gixxer 150, Gixxer 150 SF, Gixxer 250, and Gixxer 250 SF will break cover by 2026 end in India

Suzuki is, reportedly, working on the new-gen Gixxer models which are likely to debut by the end of 2026 in the Indian market. The current-gen models have been on sale for the last six years since they were launched in 2019 in our country. Sources tell us that the new-gen Suzuki Gixxer range will come with substantial cosmetic and mechanical updates, including a brand new platform. The new-gen models of both the 150cc and 250cc Gixxers, which are locally developed in India alongside the X-Strom SX, will be more feature rich than before while sitting on a new frame.

It is no hidden fact that the 150cc sporty motorcycle segment is one of the most competitive ones with the presence of several heavyweights from leading two-wheeler brands such as Yamaha, Bajaj and TVS. As the Japanese brand has not updated these bikes for more than half a decade, the sales have gradually started dropping and hence, Suzuki is planning to introduce the new-gen versions of both these bikes.

Our friends at Autocar India claim that the new-gen Suzuki Gixxer range is likely to be unveiled by the end of 2026 for both the 150cc and 250cc models. The new-gen Gixxer 150 and Gixxer 150 SF have been internally codenamed as XF181 and XF191, respectively. On the other hand, the new-gen Gixxer 250 and Gixxer 250 SF have been given internal codes in the form of XF1C1 and XF1D1, respectively.

All the four models in the new-gen Suzuki Gixxer range will break cover in a coordinated manner by 2026 end. While it is certain that the new-gen Gixxers will be underpinned by a new platform, several premium features such as coloured LCD/TFT instrument panel and USD front forks among others could be offered as standard. Generally, Suzuki Gixxer doesn’t carry the reputation of a feature rich motorcycle.

Ihe design updates in the new-gen models of the Gixxer range are not known yet but they are likely to carry a fresh look. Predominantly the fully-faired SF range could take styling cues from the bigger Suzuki GSX-R bikes in an identical pattern as the Yamaha R15 whose design is heavily inspired by the bigger fully-faired Yamaha motorcycles.

Bajaj Auto is also updating its Pulsar Classic range with new-gen models for the 150cc and 180cc motorcycles being readied for a launch around the festive season of Diwali later this year. Yamaha could also introduce an updated version of the top-selling R15 fully-faired bike in the second half of 2026 when the R2 with a 200cc engine goes on sale in the Indian market.
