The new-gen Suzuki Burgman is likely to come with substantial updates in the chassis and engine along with a fresh design
Suzuki India will launch a new two-wheeler on April 2, 2026 in the country. The company has sent out Block-Your-Date invites for the same along with a teaser image of the upcoming model which shows a split headlamp setup with a caption that reads, “For One and Only”. The Japanese brand has not officially revealed the name of the two-wheeler launching on April 2, but we believe that it will be the next-gen Burgman Street. The new-gen version of the scooter was spotted testing on the Indian roads last year.
The media reports indicate that the new-gen Suzuki Burgman could receive similar updates as the new Access 125 which was launched last year in the Indian market. The scooter has been on sale for the last eight years as it debuted in 2018. Four years later in 2022, the company rolled out the Street EX model with a bigger 12-inch rear wheel. However, the overall design and layout of the scooter remained the same.
Now, the teaser image suggests that the new-gen Burgman scooter will flaunt a split headlamp, which is inspired by the larger models in the Burgman range namely 200 and 400, sold in the global markets. Apart from the headlight, the scooter will get a plethora of substantial updates – both visually and mechanically – as it goes through a generational change.

Just so you know, the new-gen Suzuki Access was offered with a new chassis in order to fix the complications with exhaust muffler routing in the previous-gen model. It also received a new engine with multiple fresh elements in the form of camshaft, crankshaft and crankcases. However, the bore and stroke remained unchanged, and so were the power and torque figures at 8.4 bhp and 10.2 Nm, respectively.
The new-gen Suzuki Burgman, apart from the refreshed styling, could be launched with similar updates in terms of engine and chassis. The ongoing version of the scooter is priced in a range of Rs 93,676-1.08 lakh (ex-showroom). The new-gen model of the Burgman is likely to be more expensive than the current one due to modern features, fresh design and updated engine.

Suzuki Burgman is one of the most popular maxi-styled scooters in the Indian market. It regularly features in the list of top 10 scooters in the country with respect to sales volumes. The scooter clocks an average monthly sales of over 20,000 units in the domestic market. The Burgman is in direct competition with TVS Ntorq 125 and Yamaha Ray ZR in India.
