Yamaha Motor India has launched limited editions of its most popular motorcycles, the Fazer and the FZ-S in the Indian market. The launch comes right at the festive season when the sales of bikes and scooters are bound to increase. Right ahead of these times, auto manufacturers come out with fresh limited editions of their bikes to grab the customers’ eyeballs. The limited editions from Yamaha includes some mild cosmetic changes and no major upgrades though. The cosmetic job includes some new paint jobs and stickers to increase the special appeal of the motorcycle.
The Yamaha FZ16 and the FZ-S without doubt have been the most favorite among the customers in the 150cc segment barring the R15, which comes in a different league altogether. The Fazer is nothing but just an additional front fairing added to the FZ. The new limited edition gets a paint job of violet blue and silver finish. The paint job is only available for the FZ-S and the Fazer models. The FZ16 model doesn’t get this limited edition paint job. Other features include body colored exhaust muffler protector, matching blue color rear grab bars, Yamaha logo sticker on the front forks and matching blue color lined wheels.
Underneath the bike retains the same air cooled, 4 stroke, SOHC, 2 valve, 153cc engine that produces 14 PS of power @ 7500 RPM and 13.6 NM of torque @ 6000 RPM. This is mated to a 5 speed gearbox. The bike gets telescopic forks at the front and monoshock suspension at the rear. Braking is provided by disc brake at the front while a drum at the rear. It gets both of the options of a kick and electric thumb starter.
Price of Limited Edition FZ-S and Fazer – November, 2012
The 2012 Yamaha FZ-S Limited Edition model is priced at Rs. 73,030 while the Fazer will cost you Rs. 78,130, both prices being ex-showroom, Delhi.
