New Bajaj Pulsar NS160 E100 Unveiled; Launch This Fiscal

Pulsar NS160 E100 can run on 100 percent Ethanol fuel or a mix of Ethanol and petrol. Bajaj has plans to launch it in India by March 2025.

With the Government’s push towards alternate fuels for motorcycles and cars, they are the talk of the town. And Indian makers are diligently working towards making India a greener country to live. But there are various challenges associated with non-conventional fuels for businesses.

In line with this initiative, Bajaj has unveiled its new Pulsar NS160 E100 Flex-fuel at the ongoing India Bio-Energy & Tech (I BET) Expo 2024 which is being held at Yashobhoomi, IICC, Dwarka, Delhi. It appears to be the same motorcycle that we have known but it now comes with E100 compatibility – which means it can run on 100 percent Ethanol or a mix of petrol and Ethanol as well.

At the ongoing event, Bajaj has also put up on display the recently launched Freedom which is the first CNG motorcycle in the world.

Flex fuel motorcycles and scooters run on a mix of Ethanol and Petrol and lower carbon emissions in the environment. They are also beneficial for our country’s economy as they lower the burden of importing petrol from other countries and since we can produce Ethanol within India, they help in lowering our expenses.

Rajiv Bajaj Confirms Second CNG Motorcycle Launch This Fiscal

No more details, including the specifications of the motorcycle, have been revealed by Bajaj but we expect similar power and torque numbers from the Flex fuel variant of the Pulsar NS160 E100.

Few years ago TVS launched the Apache E100 in India.

Few days back, while revealing its plans, Rajiv Bajaj, MD Bajaj Auto, officially confirmed that the launch of its ethanol motorcycle will take place within this financial year. The exact motorcycle wasn’t known back then but it appears Rajiv was talking about this very Pulsar NS160 E100 only. Along with the motorcycle, Bajaj also has plans to introduce ethanol powered 3-wheeler.

Few years ago (around 2019) TVS had already launched its Apache 200 E100 which became the first such motorcycle for our market. However, 4-5 years later, we do not have any proper clue about its existence and nor has TVS talked about it in recent times. These Ethanol-powered products may not be very relevant in the current times, but they are showcased/launched to assure everybody of a company’s (as well as country’s) preparedness of the tech.
