New Bajaj Chetak 35 Range Launched, Price Starts at Rs 1.20 Lakh

The new Chetak 35 series, available with a 3.5 kWh battery under the floorboard, gets three variants namely 3501, 3502 and 3503

Bajaj Auto has launched the Chetak 35 range at a starting price of Rs 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) in the Indian market. Being the most loaded version in Chetak history, it is presented in three variants namely Chetak 3501, Chetak 3502 and Chetak 3503. Bajaj Chetak 35 is offered with a new chassis, battery and electric motor. Bajaj Chetak 35 bookings have started across India both online as well as through dealerships. The first deliveries of the 3501 variant will start in late December while 3502 will be delivered to the customers from January 2025.

The new e-scooter is quite large in size from the current model with extended wheelbase, longer seat and bigger floorboard. The styling also takes a radical departure from the ongoing version with the inclusion of slimmer turn indicators, headlight surround in black paint and sleek LED tail-lamp cluster. The new Chetak 35 is bombarded with premium features in the form of new TFT colored touchscreen with Smartphone connectivity, full map navigation, music player and call alerts.

The Chetak 35 EV series also offers multiple safety and security features like overspeed mobile alert, speed lock setting, unauthorized movement alert, accident detection, guide-me-home lights and geo-fencing. Due to the relocation of the battery pack, the underseat storage space has been enhanced significantly by 35 litres.

The Chetak 35 range is equipped with a 3.5 kWh battery pack which is placed in the tubular metal frame. It is further secured by a metal bash plate. The battery returns a range of 153 km on a single charge. The company is offering a 950W on-board charger with the e-scooter which can charge it to 80 percent from scratch in just 3 hours, making it the fastest charging Chetak till date.

The battery pack is coupled with a 4 kW permanent magnet electric motor which propels the Chetak 35 to touch a top speed of 73kmph. The suspension setup is the same as seen in the other Chetak electric scooters with the mono-shock units at the helm. The braking duties are shouldered by a disc unit at front and drum unit at the rear.

Just so you know, the price of the base Chetak 3503 variant will be announced at a later stage. Bajaj Chetak EV was the highest selling electric scooter in Dec 2024 in the domestic market with a share of over 26 percent.
