BIG HIT – New Apache 160 Beats Hornet Hands Down: Registers 1 Lakh Sales Within 6 Months

Price increased: New Apache 160 price hike is upto Rs 1820. Story includes latest price and sales number comparison with Hornet and other rivals…

TVS launched the new 2018 Apache 160 4V in India in the first half of this year. The motorcycle left us thoroughly impressed specially with the performance on offer and in a clear indication that it has been accepted very well by the enthusiasts is its sales numbers.

TVS has shared that the new Apache 160 has crossed 1 Lakh unit sales within a span of only 6 months. Which corresponds to an average of nearly 17,000 units every month. For reference, arch rival Honda Hornet 160R registered total sales of only about 38,000 units in the six month period between March to August 2018 – an average of roughly 6400 units.

Do note that Apache 160’s sales are for the six month period between April to September 2018. Other rivals like Gixxer, Xtreme Sports are not even in the frame. Bajaj does not share individual sales numbers of Pulsars and hence we do not know how many units has the Pulsar NS160 amassed during this tenure.

The only worthy rival is Yamaha’s 150cc FZ range which is also doing similar number of units on an average every month.
