New 201PS Aprilia RSV4 RR Showcased; New Factory Works 230 PS ‘RSV4 RF’ Also Introduced

The folks at Aprilia have done it again! They have taken their flagship Supersport and turned it into an even more track focused mule. The Aprilia RSV4 RR, in its 2016 avatar enters the world of 200+ horses and does not stop at just that. They have introduced a new branch called ‘Factory Works’ where their Racing Team will tune the bikes and the outcome is the mind boggling 230 PS RSV4 RF!

The RSV4 RR’s 999.6 cc produces 201 PS of maximum power at 13,000 rpm and 115 Nm of peak torque at 10,500 rpm. The world’s first full scale production motorcycle with a high performance narrow V4, hence, churns out 14 additional horses than the outgoing model and is a whole 2.5 kilos lighter!

Achieving this was not easy but clever reduction of internal friction, improving combustion efficiency and fluid-dynamic efficacy helped greatly as Aprilia puts it. The lubrication and exhaust system has been redesigned and optimised. While the standard bike gets a suspension system by Sachs, the RSV4 RF gets new Ohlin’s shock absorbers and steering dampers. APRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control), multimap ride by wire and race spec ABS can be found as standard.
