If there is one motorcycle brand which can reduce the power output of an updated product and still make you love the bike, it has to be the MV Agusta Brutale 800. MV Agusta is known for making some of the best looking motorcycles in the world and they have very recently ventured into India in collaboration with Kinetic.
Unveiled at the EICMA 2015, the new Brutale 800’s powertrain now produces 116 HP of maximum power at 11,500 rpm which is a reduction of 9 horses! Torque has seen a minor increment and all the 82 Nm now peaks 1000 rpm earlier at 7600 rpm. The new Brutale has also gained 7 kg of extra weight.
It features a unique counter rotating crankshaft and remains the only bike in the segment to get electronic EAS 2.0 up and down gear shifts. The slipper clutch is now hydraulically operated while the engine management continues to be overseen by the MVICS (Motor and Vehicle Integrated Control System). MVICS includes multi map full ride by wire and traction control with 8 settings.
The new Brutale 800 now becomes Euro 4 emission norm complaint and deliveries will commence from January 2016.
Apart from this they have also brought in updates to the motorcycles based on three cylinder engines. This includes the F3, Turismo Veloce, Stradale, Dragster and Rivale which get a blackened engine finish. The Dragster and Rivale also get new graphics and new paint schemes while the Rivale’s fuel tank gets increased from 12.9 litres to 16 litres. These updated motorcycles will hit the road from December 2015 onwards.
