Apart from the 2017 RC390, KTM has also launched the new RC200 MY17 in India at the same event in Pune. As compared to the bigger 390, RC200 gets lesser changes.
2017 RC200 – List of Changes
Like the new RC390, biggest change for the 2017 RC200 is the adherence to BS4 emission norms, however, against the elder brethren, the 2017 RC200 continues with the underbelly exhaust. It also gets a lesser 9.5 liter fuel tank (10 liter capacity for the older model).
Major con of this transition to BS4 is that the 2017 RC200 weighs 147.5 kg (with fuel 154 kg) against the 137.5 kg of the older model, resulting in a 10 kg increment. Apart from this, it gets a white colour theme against the black of the outgoing model. Interestingly, this theme appears to be specific to India because the international-spec 2017 RC200 gets a different colouring theme (check last pic).
The pillion seat has been cushioned by 12 mm to provide ‘some’ comfort.
The 2017 RC200 continues with the same 199.5 cc liquid cooled engine capable of producing 25 PS of peak power at 10,000 rpm and 19.2 Nm of max torque at 8000 rpm and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
It continues with the 300/230 mm (front/rear) disc brakes and there is no ABS even now; not even optional!
2017 RC200 Price
The 2017 RC200 has been launched at a price tag of Rs 1,71,740 ex-showroom Delhi, which is an increment of Rs 2000+ over than the older RC!
