Lambretta unveiled a ‘beach culture’ inspired special edition of the J (Junior) scooter at EICMA 2024 to mark its 60th anniversary
Lambretta, the Milan-based Italian two-wheeler brand, commemorated the 60th anniversary of its iconic J (Junior) scooter at the EICMA 2024 by presenting the Lambretta J Starwave special edition. For those wondering, Lambretta Junior is the company’s lightweight scooter, tipping the scale at 135 kg, with a saddle height of 790 mm. Lambretta J Starwave will be sold from June 2025 across global markets. It is not yet confirmed whether it will debut in Asian countries.
The Italian two-wheeler manufacturer claims that the J Starwave special edition is inspired by the beach culture and surfing world. It also flaunts an exclusive and customizable surfboard-like design element which is mounted on the front shield. The long and low slung silhouette takes inspiration from American tradition as the outstretched rectangular side panels perfectly flank the classic lines of the special edition model.
Lambretta J Starwave boasts of a hexagonal LED headlamp upfront alongside a long single-piece seat. The special edition also features decorative trimmings in silver color at several places. Lambretta also displayed multiple customization kits at the event for the J scooter which include front stripes and fenders.
The J Starwave edition comes equipped with a 124.6 cc petrol engine which generates maximum power output of 12.2 bhp and peak torque of 11.5 Nm. In addition, the J scooter range is also on offer with a bigger and more powerful 174.5cc petrol engine which unleashes top power of 17 bhp and highest torque of 15.5 Nm. However, it was not confirmed whether the J Starwave edition can be availed with this powertrain setup.
The J Starwave special edition is the prime example of a stylish scooter with its ice-blue color, cream-colored seat and chrome treatment on the body. It gets a 12-inch front and rear wheel. The graphic panels done by Dutch artist Piet Linnebank are interchangeable and can be swapped out. Some of the notable features of the J Starwave special edition model are front & rear disc brakes, traction control, ABS, USB charging sockets etc. to name a few.
The J Starwave edition comprises hydraulic shocks with five level preload adjustability at the rear. It has a fuel tank capacity of 8 litres. The price of the special edition model is not announced yet. We believe the Italian brand will disclose the pricing in the coming months. So, stay tuned for more updates on the same.
