The 390 Adventure R has been positioned between the 390 Adventure X (Rs 3.28 lakh) and the standard 390 Adventure (Rs 3.97 lakh) in KTM’s line-up
KTM India has silently launched the 390 Adventure R at a price point of Rs 3.78 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) in the country. However, it was quickly removed from the official website of the brand in India and no details of the adventure motorcycle are available currently. We had earlier reported that the KTM 390 Adventure R, the off-road specific model in the 390 ADV range, will be launched in Jan 2026 in the Indian market. The 390 Adventure R is positioned between the 390 Adventure X (Rs 3.28 lakh) and the standard 390 Adventure (Rs 3.97 lakh) in KTM’s line-up.
The 390 Adventure R gets longer suspension travel and different wheel size as compared to the 390 Adventure. The suspension travel is rated 230 mm at both the ends while the standard version has 200 mm front and 205 mm rear suspension travel. KTM 390 Adventure R borrows its suspension setup from the export-spec model of the 390 Enduro R.
Coming to the wheels, the 390 Adventure R rides on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear cross-spoke wheels which are fitted with tubed Mitas Enduro Trail tyres for all-terrain riding and special focus on off-roading. On the other hand, the stock version of the 390 Adventure uses 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels with tubeless Apollo Tramplr tyres.

The 390 Adventure R has a saddle height of 870 mm while the ground clearance is pegged at 272 mm. It remains unchanged in terms of design, frame, features and engine specs. The ADV motorcycle will be available in a White and Orange dual-tone colour scheme. The bookings for the 390 Adventure R have begun at a fully refundable token payment of Rs 1999/- across the country.
Some of the notable features onboard the 390 Adventure R are Ride-by-wire throttle, ABS, Off-road mode, Rally-inspired bodywork, Bi-directional quickshifter, Upright stance, and 14-litre fuel tank. The official weight of the bike has not been listed yet on the website, but we believe it to be nearly the same as the UK-spec model which tips the scale at 176 kg. However, the India-spec model will also get a couple of additional elements in the form of front number plate holder and saree guard.

At the heart, the 390 Adventure R has the same 399cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled petrol engine which generates max power of 45 bhp and peak torque of 39 Nm. The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. There is a genuine difference of around Rs 20,000 between the standard 390 Adventure and 390 Adventure R due to the less expensive spoke wheels and tubed tyres with the latter.
