KTM, the Austrian company which showcased its KTM 125 Duke at the EICMA recently has made up its mind to bring KTM 125 Duke to India as soon as possible. KTM, in order to give India its first one of kind motorcycle, tested Duke on Indian roads. The news is that Duke was tested on Indian roads in Indian conditions to see if the bike has to be modified in some way or the other to fit Indian conditions.

Bajaj, one of the biggest brands of the lot has made a decision to support KTM on its journey to India. It is speculated that Bajaj will help KTM with the basic plant facilities, understanding the Indian motorcycle market and others. KTM has initiated steps to start producing bikes in India and for this the Austrian company is going to use Bajaj’s Chakan plant facility.
KTM, to minimize the cost of the bike, has decided to localize most o the components used in the bike. However, even after the localization of the components the bike is expected to cost between 1.10 to 1.35 lakhs on road in India. Well, whatever may be the price but one thing is for sure that the bike is going to be seen on road in India very soon. Industry experts say that one can expect the bike to be on sale in India by March 2011.
