Kinetic to Launch New Electric Scooters in India

Apart from electric scooters, Kinetic will launch electric motorcycles and last-mile mobility focused electric two-wheelers next year in the country

Kinetic Engineering Ltd has revealed its plans of expanding the product portfolio by introducing multiple new electric scooters in the Indian market. In addition, the brand also intends to launch electric motorcycles and last-mile mobility focused electric two-wheeler models. In the latest investor presentation, the company classified the upcoming models in three categories namely electric scooters, electric motorcycles and commercial-use electric two-wheelers for last-mile delivery. Kinetic had recently relaunched the iconic DX100 scooter in an all-electric avatar in India.

Kinetic further stated that it also has plans to enter a few global markets by 2027 as a part of its global EV expansion initiative. In the domestic market, the upcoming Kinetic electric scooters will come with in-house developed components such as motors, controllers and battery packs. The batteries are likely to be supplied from the Range-X facility of the brand.

The Range-X facility has an annual production capacity of 60,000 LFP and NMC batteries. Kinetic aims to retail 5000 units of its e-scooters by March 2026 while setting a target of scaling the production to 60,000 units by FY 2026-27. It will also improve its footprint across the country by opening more than 500 dealerships in major cities of the country.

New Kinetic DX

In order to set this plan in action, Kinetic Watts & Volts (KWVL), the subsidiary of Kinetic Engineering Ltd, will set up a specialised EV training facility in the form of Kinetic Lab. It will be used for the training of technicians, service engineers and dealer personnel. Kinetic Labs will provide training in diagnostics, repair and battery systems to these people.

Kinetic DX100 was rolled out in two trims namely DX and DX Plus at price points of Rs 1.11 lakh and Rs 1.17 lakh, respectively. Some of the notable features onboard the electric scooter include Easy Charge retractable charging cable, One-touch Easy Flip pillion footrest, Easy Key system for hassle-free keyless operation, Kinetic Assist switch, and My Kiney companion voice-enabled feature.

New Kinetic DX

The DX100 electric scooter boasts of 37 litres under seat storage capacity. The suspension duties are carried by telescopic front suspension and adjustable rear shocks. It is equipped with a 2.6 kWh LFP battery pack which returns an IDC range of 116 km on a single charge. The top speed is pegged at 90 kmph. There are three ride modes on offer namely Range, Power and Turbo.
