Keeway Hypevolt-R has been launched in the Indian market at a sticker price of Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It marks the entry of the Chinese-owned two-wheeler brand in the electric scooter segment in India. The Hypevolt-R e-scooter bookings are underway at a token payment of Rs 5,000. Presently, Keeway has 55 dealerships in various states of our country. Since it is a premium electric scooter, Keeway Hypevolt-R will directly rival with TVS iQube ST, Gen 3 Ola S1 Pro+ 5.2 kWh and Ather 450 Apex in the local market in India.
Starting with styling, the Hypevolt-R gets a dual-tone front apron with high-mounted handlebar and flat split seat setup. The suspension duties are carried by telescopic front forks and 5-step adjustable rear units. The stopping power comes from disc brakes at both the ends alongside a dual-channel ABS which comes as a standard fitment.
Riding on 14-inch alloy wheels, Keeway Hypevolt-R comes loaded with a plethora of bells and whistles in the form of cruise control, ride modes (Eco, Normal & Sport), blind-spot detection, traction control, hill-hold control, USB charging port, hill-descent control and a rear-view camera. The sleek body panels on both sides of the electric scooter complement the overall design.

Powered by dual portable battery packs of 5 kWh in total, Keeway Hypevolt-R has a maximum range of 180 km on a single charge. The battery is connected to a mid-mounted electric motor which produces top power of 16 bhp and peak torque of 72 Nm. The company claims that the e-scooter takes around 3 hours for a 0-80 percent charge. It does the 0-40 kmph sprint in just 2.3 secs before topping out at 115 kmph.
The Hypevolt-R has underseat storage capacity of 27 litres which is adequate to swallow a full-face helmet. In addition, the front enclosed compartment can store small belongings of up to 4.6 litres. A few other notable elements include dual-lens class-DS LED headlamp, crystal-style rear light, 5-inch fully coloured instrument console with TFT display.

The riders can also access advanced connectivity features like geo-fencing, live location, and OTA updates by pairing the Smartphone with the electric scooter’s TFT dashboard via Bluetooth. Tipping the weighing scale at 140 kg, the Hypevolt-R has ground clearance of 130 mm. Sitting on a cage frame body, it comes with a saddle height of 770 mm.
