Shine 100 price is aggressive as promised and it attacks the largest selling Splendor. Honda has surely come prepared this time…
In a direct attack at its erstwhile-partner-now-rival Hero MotoCorp, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has officially announced the launch of its entry level motorcycle which is called as Shine 100. After trying multiple names earlier, Honda has come prepared this time and it is trying to catch in on the extreme popularity and trust of its Shine brand name.
Honda says that Shine 100 is a ground-up product and comes with as many as 12 patents. So far, Honda was trying to cater to this segment with its 110cc platform that has not really yielded the desired results. However, with the new Shine, Honda is directly eyeing the Splendor – the largest selling motorcycle in India!
Shine 100 comes with Honda’s smallest-yet (in India) 99cc, single cylinder, air-cooled engine that churns 7.61 PS of peak power and 8.05 Nm of max torque. It comes paired with a 4-speed gearbox. The motor is OBD-2 compliant and it can run on E20 petrol as well. This engine and other parts are bolted on a basic diamond frame.
Shine 100 Price
|Shine 100||Rs 64,900|
We had predicted a similar price range for the new Shine and that means it undercuts its direct rival Splendor by whopping Rs 7520 which is more than 10 percent lower. However, do note that this is an introductory price tag which means Honda may increase it in future, if it sees good traction of the new model.
