Honda clocked sales of 6.36 lakh units last month in the domestic market, thus becoming India’s second-biggest two-wheeler brand behind Hero
Honda 2-Wheelers India registered total sales of 7.06 lakh units in September 2026 with a YoY growth of 24 percent. The Japanese brand had sold 5.68 lakh units during the same month last year. The domestic sales surged from 5.05 lakh units in September 2025 to 6.36 lakh units in September 2026 at 26 percent on a YoY basis. The export business also posted a decent double-digit growth of 11 percent as Honda shipped 69,498 units of made-in-India motorcycles and scooters last month as compared to 62,471 units in September 2025.
The brand also released the sales data for H1FY27 (April-September 2026) period. The overall sales during the first half of the ongoing fiscal stood at 34.40 lakh units against 29.93 lakh units during H1FY26 (April-September 2025). Honda reported a YoY growth of 15 percent. As far as domestic volumes are concerned, it sold 30.44 lakh units in H1FY27 with a YoY growth of 13 percent. The company had managed to sell 26.82 lakh units during H1FY26 (April-September 2025).
The export business recorded maximum YoY growth of 27 percent in H1FY27 (April-September 2026) as numbers touched 3.96 lakh units during this period as compared to 3.11 lakh units exported during H1FY26 (April-September 2025). Honda presently operates four plants in Manesar, Tapukara, Narsapura, and Vithalapur, and serves more than 76 million customers through a network of over 7,000 touchpoints.

Recently, it was learnt that the company has postponed the deliveries of the ADV160 Flex-Fuel (E85) maxi-scooter to Q1 2027. It was launched last month at a sticker price of Rs 1.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) in the Indian market. During the launch, the brand announced that first deliveries will commence from mid-October 2026 onwards across the country.
Being Honda’s first flex-fuel scooter with capability of running on E85 fuel which has ethanol blending of 85 percent, Honda ADV160 maxi-scooter will be locally manufactured in India. The official bookings started on August 25, 2026 at a token payment of Rs 5,000 at the company’s website as well as at Honda’s dealerships in the country. It will be sold via Honda RedWing and BigWing showrooms across the nation.

Some of the notable features onboard the maxi-scooter are TFT instrument cluster with Honda RoadSync tech, Turn by Turn Navigation and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC). At the heart, Honda ADV160 flex fuel has the 156.93cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine which develops top power of 16 bhp at 8,500 rpm and peak torque of 14.7 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The ADV160 comes with Honda’s proven FlexTech technology.
