According to Business Standard news India’s second largest scooter manufacturing company Honda Motorcycle Scooters India Ltd. will price CBR250R at Rs. 1,50,000 ex-Showroom Delhi in India. The bike will be available by April 2011. HMSI will import the parts from Asian countries (Thailand) and will assemble the parts in their Manesar, Haryana plant. HMSI will localize some parts like tire to cut the production cost.
A company executive said that the bike will be priced at Rs. 1,50,000 (Ex-Showroom) Delhi and a little more than that in Mumbai. He also added that the bike should hit showroom in April.
This will give CBR250R on road price of around Rs. 1,75,000 which will make it cheaper than Mahindra Mojo (Ex-Showroom price 1,75,000) and Kawasaki Ninja (On road price Rs. 3,00,000). Beside this Bajaj Auto is also going to launch all new Pulsar with higher displacement capacity in the next year.
Though Bajaj Auto has not disclosed the price range but going by their strategy it will be priced in the range of Rs. 1,00,000 to 1,30,000. It seems that the year 2011 will have lots of good news for performance enthusiast.
