The Activa and Shine 125, with combined retail volumes of around 3.70 lakh units, accounted for over 80 percent of Honda’s overall sales in May 2026
Honda retained its position as India’s second largest two-wheeler brand in May 2026 with sales of 4,59,611 units. The Japanese brand registered a double-digit YoY growth of 10 percent as a total of 4,17,250 units were retailed in May 2025. However, the MoM sales declined by 5 percent as the company had recorded sales of 4,84,972 units in Apr 2026. The Activa continued to lead the sales charts for Honda with sales of nearly 2.29 lakh units last month. The fastest growing models on a YoY basis were the CB 350 and H’Ness 350.
As for the Activa, it seems as if there is no alternative for the tried-and-trusted model in the scooter segment and it is likely to rule the roost until Honda finally decides to retire it. With a YoY growth of 20 percent, Honda sold 2,28,955 units of the scooter in May 2026 as compared to 1,90,713 units in May 2025. Even the MoM sales surged by 4 percent as 2,20,774 units were retailed in Apr 2026.
The second best-selling Honda was the Shine 125 in May 2026 with retail volumes of 1,40,901 units. Despite the fact that it was India’s top-selling 125cc motorcycle last month, the Shine 125 posted YoY and MoM growth of 5 percent and 16 percent, respectively. The company had sold 1,48,288 units of the bike in May 2025 while 1,68,636 units of the Shine 125 were retailed in Apr 2026.

The Shine 100, on the other hand, witnessed a strong surge in YoY sales by 46 percent as Honda was able to sell 14,540 units last month against 9,983 units in May 2026. Honda CB Unicorn 150 was the third highest-selling model in May 2026 with a YoY growth of 22 percent as 34,925 units were sold last month as compared to 28,616 units in May 2025.
The Dio 110 and Dio 125 reported sales of 12,580 units and 11,234 units, respectively, in May 2026. Honda sold 812 units of the QC1 electric scooter last month which was higher than Apr 2026 (552 units). Honda CB 125 Hornet posted sales of 4,319 units in May 2026 while the Livo suffered a major setback as volumes were down by 100 percent on a YoY basis with just 2 units being sold. Three more Honda motorcycles namely SP 160, CB 350, and H’ness 350 registered positive YoY growth of 29 percent, 73 percent and 66 percent, respectively, in May 2026.
Last but not the least, the biggest disappointments for Honda in May 2026 were Hornet 2.0 and CB200X with YoY decline of 69 percent and 30 percent, respectively. While the brand sold merely 389 units of the Hornet 2.0 in May 2026 as compared to 1,273 units in May 2025, a total of 413 units of the CB200X were retailed last month against 586 units in May 2025.
