The 125cc sporty commuter segment of motorcycles is among the most sought after ones in the Indian market with intense competition. It has several models from the renowned legacy brands such as Bajaj Auto, Honda 2-Wheelers India and TVS Motor Company among others. While Honda CB125 Hornet is the latest entrant in this segment, TVS Raider has been here for quite some time now. Honda CB125 Hornet was launched in Aug 2025 at an introductory price of Rs 1.12 lakh (ex-showroom, Gurgaon). Available in a single fully-loaded variant, it can be availed through regular Honda dealerships in the country. On the other hand, TVS Raider 125 is offered in a total of seven trims namely Drum, Single Seat, Split Seat, iGo, SSE, SXC DD and TFT DD.
The Raider 125 comes in a price range of Rs 82,000-97,050 (ex-showroom, Delhi) in the Indian market. So, as far as upfront cost is concerned, even the range-topping variant of the Raider 125 undercuts the CB125 Hornet by around Rs 15,000 which is a significant amount. The base trim of the TVS bike is approx Rs 30,000 cheaper than the CB125 Hornet, which is more than enough to influence the buying decision of an individual.
Honda CB125 Hornet vs TVS Raider 125: Colours
Honda CB125 Hornet comes in three dual-tone colour schemes namely Pearl Siren Blue with Lemon Ice Yellow, Pearl Siren Blue with Athletic Blue Metallic, and Pearl Siren Blue with Sports Red. In addition, a single-tone colour is also rolled out in the form of Pearl Igneous Black. The dual-tone paint shades appear to be fairly attractive as they combine the latest colour combinations.
Talking about TVS Raider 125 colours, the customers can avail it in Striking Red, Deadpool, Wolverine, Black Panther, Iron Man, Nardo Grey, Wicked Black, Blazing Blue, Forza Blue and Fiery Yellow. So, as we can see, there are a total of 10 colours on offer with the Raider 125 which is way more than the CB125 Hornet. However, it misses out on dual-tone paint shades and only the SSE trim is available with four unique marvel inspired colours.
Honda CB125 Hornet vs TVS Raider 125: Engine Specs
Honda CB125 Hornet is powered by a 123.94cc single-cylinder OBD2B compliant petrol engine which develops top power of 11 bhp at 7500 rpm and peak torque of 11.2 Nm at 6000 rpm. The engine is coupled with a 5-speed gearbox. With a 0 to 60 kmph sprint time of just 5.4 seconds, the CB125 Hornet is the fastest motorcycle in its segment.
The Raider 125 is equipped with a 124.8cc single cylinder air/oil-cooled petrol engine which is good enough for 11.2 bhp at 7500 rpm and 11.2 Nm at 6000 rpm. The iGo Assist variants have a class-leading torque delivery of 11.75 Nm. The engine is linked to a 5-speed transmission. The 0-60 kmph acceleration time stands at 5.8 seconds for the Raider 125.
