New Hero Xtreme 125R Launched at 95,000; More Powerful Than Raider

Hero has gone the whole hog when it comes to Xtreme 125R price; it has not played the conservative game and it is placed bang against rivals…

Hero has ventured in the sportier 125cc space where the overall market has seen hefty traction. Bajaj is present here with its Pulsar NS125 and TVS sells its very popular Raider. Arch-rival and the largest seller in the 125cc motorcycle space Honda plays a bit soft here and has the relatively simpler SP125. This is precisely where Hero has introduced the all-new Xtreme 125R.

This marks two things – one, the Xtreme moniker now drops a segment lower and two, with the 125R, Hero has introduced one of the most powerful motorcycle in this space. The Xtreme 125R is equipped with an all-new engine that Hero calls as SPRINT – short for Smooth Power Response and Instant Torque. This 124.7 cc, air cooled motor churns 11.4 bhp of peak power at 8250 rpm and 10.5 Nm of max torque at 6000 rpm. That makes the Xtreme 125R the second most powerful motorcycle in the segment, only next to Pulsar NS125. Hero has claimed the 0-60 kph sprint in 5.9 seconds. A 5 speed gearbox spreads the power across the rev band.

  • Widest 120mm rear tyre
  • Chunkiest 37 mm front forks

Other features include tyre hugger, a new diamond type frame, 7-step adjustable monoshock, Showa suspension and hazard lamp. There is a negative LCD instrument cluster that comes with a gear position indicator apart from Smartphone pairability through Bluetooth for calls and SMS alerts.
