For the first time, Hero Vida electric scooter sales have surpassed 1 lakh units in a calendar year in the domestic market
Hero Vida electric scooter sales have surpassed 1 lakh units for the first time in a calendar year. The company had forayed into the e2w segment more than three years back in 2022. However, it is for the first time that the brand has been able to retail over 1 lakh electric scooters in a year. Needless to mention, the mass-market low-cost VX2 e-scooter has contributed the most to this sales milestone. As per the sales data on Vahan portal between Jan 1 and Dec 5, Vida electric scooter has touched the 1 lakh landmark.
Though the beginning of the CY25 wasn’t good at all, as Hero managed to sell just 1,626 units of Vida electric scooters in Jan 2025. However, things started getting better with each passing month as numbers started falling in the ballpark of 6k-8k units till June. In July 2025, for the first time, Vida e-scooters breached the 10k monthly sales milestone.
| Month CY 2025 | Sales |
| January | 1,626 |
| February | 2,696 |
| March | 8,039 |
| April | 6,150 |
| May | 7,191 |
| June | 7,702 |
| July | 10,548 |
| August | 13,380 |
| September | 12,830 |
| October | 16,017 |
| November | 12,220 |
| December (1-5) | 1,984 |
It was in October 2025 during the festive season of Diwali when the brand clocked its highest-ever monthly sales with 16k+ units in the domestic market. Vida started on the seventh spot in Jan 2025, but by last month (Nov 2025), it became the fourth highest-selling electric scooter brand by dethroning Ola Electric. So, slowly yet steadily, Hero Vida electric scooters have indeed come a long way.

The foremost contribution in this success saga is of the VX2 electric scooter which was launched in July 2025. It was Hero’s most affordable electric scooter at a starting price of merely Rs 59,490 (ex-showroom) with BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service) subscription model. In fact, the price without the BaaS model was also not much as it was kept at Rs 99,490 (ex-showroom).
The highly aggressive pricing with and without BaaS helped Vida VX2 in selling like a hot cake. It was the primary factor behind Vida outnumbering Ola Electric by a fair margin in Nov 2025 sales. Vida VX2 is available in two variants namely Go and Plus with 2.2 kWh and 3.4 kWh battery packs, respectively. The former returns a range of 92 km while the latter runs 142 km on a single charge.

Though Vida also has the V2 premium scooter in its portfolio, it has not tasted much success due to higher pricing. Hence, the VX2 e-scooter was rolled out and it turned the fortunes of the brand pretty quickly. Recently, the 3.4 kWh battery pack of the Plus variant was also extended to the Go trim at a price point of Rs 1.02 lakh without BaaS and at Rs 60,000 with BaaS.
