The world’s largest motorcycle maker, Hero MotoCorp announced recently to answer some media speculations that it is not going to discontinue any product from its portfolio. Rumors of Hero trying to discontinue some of its low selling products arose post its split up with its long term JV partner, Honda Motorcycles. However, all the current products will continue to exist and Hero MotoCorp has added that it is working very hard to produce more and more of their products. With so much volume to cater to, its latest products – the Impulse and the Maestro are taking the beating.
According the company report, Hero MotoCorp is currently looking at expanding its production capacity to meet the demand for the Impulse and the Maestro. Apart from that, all the existing products under its belt will be upgraded to meet the new emissions norms that will be implemented from 2015. This means re-tuning of the engine components and it is expected to be carried out by the in-house R&D people. Hero is also expanding its R&D capability with fresh recruitment and tie-ups with global firms. Till date, it has announced its tie-ups with US based Eric Bruell Racing, AVL, Austria and Engines Engineering, Italy which was previously owned by Mahindra 2 Wheelers.
