Hero MotoCorp continued to be the world’s largest two-wheeler brand by outnumbering Honda with a margin of around 1 lakh units
Hero MotoCorp dispatched 598,198 units in March 2026 as compared to 549,604 units during the same period last year. It sold a total of 542,436 two-wheelers last month with a YoY growth of 24 percent, as per the data available on Vahan portal. The brand’s electric arm Vida posted the highest-ever monthly sales with 21,434 units in March 2026. Hero Vida recorded a staggering YoY growth of 154 percent as it became the fourth biggest electric two-wheeler brand in the Indian market after TVS, Bajaj and Ather.
The export business also grew by 16 percent on a YoY basis in March 2026 as a total of 45,693 units were shipped from India against 39,518 units during the same period last year. As far as FY26 is concerned, the export business registered an all-time high of 40 percent YoY dispatch growth with 4,02,786 units being transported to other countries from India as compared to 2,87,429 units in FY25.
Hero MotoCorp dispatched nearly 65 lakh units in FY26 as compared to 59 lakh units in FY25. It sold over 60 lakh two-wheelers in the domestic market between Apr 2025 – Mar 2026 while nearly 56 lakh models were retailed during FY25 in the domestic market. Hero continued to be the world’s biggest two-wheeler brand with Honda retaining the second position.

If we break down the sales data of FY26, Hero sold 58,42,549 motorcycles and 6,26,285 scooters. The company had retailed 54,76,495 motorcycles and 4,22,692 scooters in FY25. Hence, as we can see, the company posted positive growth in both these segments in FY26. As for March 2026, it recorded sales of 5,32,383 motorcycles and 65,815 scooters as compared to 506,641 bikes and 42,963 scooter models in March 2025.
Hero’s total sales in the domestic market in March 2026 stood at 552,505 units as compared to 510,086 units during the same month last year. The export volumes were also encouraging at 45,693 units in March 2026 against 39,518 units in March 2025. So, in all, the brand posted positive growth in every segment in March 2026 – be it domestic sales, be it exports, or be it the segment-wise break up in terms of motorcycles and scooters.

Hero MotoCorp stated in an official statement that strong demand for premium portfolio products across motorcycles and scooters led to growth in key international markets. It also added that decent performance continued in March 2026 in the ICE scooter segment which was fuelled by the improved demand sentiment in the rural markets aided by early festive tailwinds.
