Hero Destini 125 to Get New LX Variant, Details Leaked Ahead of Launch

A leaked document reveals that the Destini 125 will be offered with a new entry-level LX variant with price reveal at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

Hero MotoCorp unveiled the second-gen Destini 125 in Sep 2024 in the Indian market. It was presented in three grades namely VX, ZX and ZX+. However, the country’s largest two-wheeler brand has not announced the price of the new scooter yet. Now, we have learnt that the company will roll out a new base variant LX of the Destini 125 in the domestic market. A leaked registration approval document confirms the introduction of a new entry-level variant, which could be launched at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 along with the entire Destini 125 range.

Being the base trim, Hero Destini LX will be the most affordable variant in the Destini 125 line-up. It could be offered with some of the most basic features to facilitate cost-cutting. The alloy wheels and disc brakes seen on the other Destini 125 variants could be axed in favour of steel wheels and drum brakes. In addition, it could be equipped with an all-analogue instrument console. Just so you know, the VX trim is available with a digital-analogue cluster.

Hero MotoCorp might also remove the chrome accents from the Destini 125 LX in order to achieve an even more aggressive pricing. Though, the suspension setup is expected to be retained from the other variants with telescopic forks at front and a mono-shock unit at the rear.

Mechanically, Hero Destini 125 LX is likely to be powered by the same 125cc single-cylinder engine which develops top power of 9 bhp at 7,000 rpm and peak torque of 10.4 Nm at 5,500 rpm while linked to a CVT gearbox. It returns a best-in-segment mileage of 59 kmpl, claims Hero. The scooter is at loggerheads with the TVS Jupiter 125 and Honda Activa 125 in the Indian market.

Hero MotoCorp’s official website reveals the kerb weight of the Destini 125 as 115 kg. The LX trim is also expected to be a little lighter due to omission of several features. Though the fuel tank capacity is expected to be the same at 5.3 litres. The saddle height is tipped at 770 mm while the ground clearance stands at 162 mm.
