Hero 2Wheeler Sales September 2022 – Domestic Sales Did Well, Exports Struggled Again

Hero Motocorp have revealed their sales numbers for September 2022. 

The Domestic Sales see a slight positive growth compared to last year’s sales. Exports this time dropped significantly for the company. 

The company has registered Gross Sales of 5,19,980 units sold in the month of September 2022, down by 1.95% compared to 5,30,346 units sold in September 2021.

Year-over-Year Sales

Motorcycles – Motorcycle sales see a de-growth of 1.88%, falling from 4,89,417 units sold last year to 4,80,237 units sold in September 2022. 

Scooters – Scooter sales also showed a decline last month. Their sales contracted by 2.90%. The sales decreased from 40,929 units in September 2021 to 39,743 units in September 2022. 

The Domestic Sales registered a growth of 0.44%, selling 5,07,690 units in September 2022. 

The Exports, in contrast, were down massively by 50.61%, registering just 12,290 units in September 2022.

Month-over-Month Sales

The monthly sales comparison paints a good picture for Hero MotoCorp, except for Exports. 

Motorcycles – Motorcycle sales expanded by 6.54%, up from 4,50,740 units sold in August 2022.

Scooters – Similarly, the scooter category grew by a whopping 234.88%, up from 11,868 units sold in August 2022. 

The Domestic Sales were also up, gaining by a 17.85% MoM.

The Exports, conversely, showed a downward trend and contracted by a significant 61.36%, falling from 31,809 units registered in September 2022. 

The Total Sales of MoM, hence, grew by 12.40%. 

Year-to-Date Sales

The combined sales in the period of – April till September 2022 – fared well for Hero MotoCorp, except for one criterion – Exports, once again.

Motorcycles – Motorcycles sales expanded by 15.04%, up from 22,93,741 units sold in the same 6 months of last year.

Scooters – Likewise, the scooter category grew by 6.11%, up from 1,69,389 units sold last year. 

The Domestic Sales were also up, growing by 17.81% YTD.

The Exports, however, showed a contraction. It decreased by 35.46%, declining from 1,56,616 units registered in the same 6 months of last year. 

The Total Sales of MoM, hence, grew by 14.42%.
