The X440 T variant is introduced with several new features and in this piece, we mention the top 5 things about the bike that you should know of
Harley-Davidson X440 T was launched last week in the Indian market. It is the new range-topping variant in the X440 line-up after the Vivid and S grades. The roadster bike will lock horns with the likes of Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Triumph Speed 400. The X440 T comes with cosmetic makeover as well as premium features which were never seen before in the X440 variants. Hence, in this piece, we will talk in detail about the top 5 things of Harley-Davidson X440 T.
1. Ride-by-Wire Throttle
The cable-operated throttle has gone for a toss in favour of a ride-by-wire unit in the X440 T. Undoubtedly, this is one of the best things in the bike as it makes way for multiple upmarket features in the form of multiple ride modes (Road and Rain) and switchable traction control. Both of these features can be operated via the TFT instrument cluster.
2. Switchable ABS
Harley-Davidson has introduced switchable rear ABS for the first time in the X440 range. The riders can now switch off and on the Anti-lock Braking System for the rear wheel during off-roading. The dual-channel switchable ABS feature is not available with any of its rival motorcycles, be it the Triumph Speed 400 or be it the Royal Enfield Classic 350.

3. New Tail Section
The X440 had a massive gap between the rear wheel and fender, which has been taken care of in the new T variant. The rear profile of the X440 T is sleeker, longer and more proportionate. The rear sub-frame has been redesigned with a compact tail section and grab handles. The bike also comes with new paint schemes and bar-end mirrors among many other subtle visual updates.
4. Panic Braking Alert
The X440 T gets a first-in-segment Panic Braking Alert feature. During sudden braking, the front as well rear turn indicators blink four times faster than the standard blinking rate for the traffic behind when deceleration is higher than 2.4m/s. This feature brings additional safety onboard for the rider and occupant in event of panic braking.

5. Weight and Price
The X440 T variant tips the weighing scale at 192 kg, which is nearly 1.5 kg heavier than the other two variants. This extra weight is gained due to new design elements. Priced at Rs 2.79 lakh (ex-showroom), it is the most expensive motorcycle in its segment. While it costs around Rs 45,000 more than the Triumph Speed 400, it is nearly Rs 82k-44k costlier than the Royal Enfield Classic 350. The higher price is due to the increased GST on bikes above engine capacity 350cc.
