The upcoming motorcycle appears to be based on the X440T, but gets a smaller engine to fit within the revised 350cc tax bracket
Harley-Davidson appears to be preparing a smaller-capacity version of its X440 roadster for India. The motorcycle, reportedly called the X350T, has been spotted undisguised, with the new name visible on its fuel tank. The development is particularly interesting because it follows recent changes to India’s GST structure, which make motorcycles up to 350 cc more attractive from a tax standpoint.
Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp are developing the new motorcycle, and it appears to retain much of the X440T’s design and hardware. The biggest change is expected to be under the skin, where the existing 440cc engine has reportedly been downsized.
The X350T looks almost identical to the X440T, retaining its roadster proportions, round LED headlamp, muscular fuel tank and wide handlebar. The latest motorcycle gets new graphics and an orange colour scheme, while other reported colour options include black, red and military green.

It gets USD front forks, twin rear shock absorbers, disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS, a portrait-oriented TFT instrument console and an LED lighting setup. The single-piece seat retains a stepped profile for the pillion, while the small flyscreen adds to its roadster character. The motorcycle also gets an electronic throttle body, suggesting that ride-by-wire technology will be part of the package.
The current X440T uses a 440 cc, single-cylinder, air- and oil-cooled engine producing 27 bhp and 38 Nm, paired with a six-speed gearbox. For the X350T, this engine is expected to be reworked to bring displacement down to approximately 350cc. Early estimates suggest an output of around 25 bhp and 35 Nm, although these figures are speculative.

The final engine specifications and gearbox details have not been officially announced. The reduction in displacement should help Harley-Davidson position the motorcycle more competitively under the revised GST structure, without having to develop an entirely new platform.
The Harley-Davidson X350T is expected to launch in India in the coming weeks. For reference, the existing X440T is priced at Rs 2.86 lakh, ex-showroom. The smaller engine could help bring the new motorcycle in at a lower price, although the extent of the reduction remains unknown.
If priced well, the X350T could give Harley-Davidson a more accessible entry into its India-developed roadster family. It will also add another option to the increasingly competitive 350 cc motorcycle segment, where buyers have several established choices.
