Gusto Sells as Much as Aviator in Sep; Dual Tone Special Edition Launched at Rs 49,350

Mahindra has been trying hard to make their Activa rival Gusto sell and in tandem with the ongoing festive season, they have launched a special edition variant of the scooter to boost sales. The Gusto Special Edition gets a dual-tone paint scheme on the range topping standard variant.

The Gusto Special Edition is available in two colour options:

  • Silver Magenta
  • Ice Cool Red

Both the colors are pictured on this page.

The Special Editions carry a price tag of Rs 49,350 ex-showroom, Delhi which is Rs 500 more than that of the standard VX variant. Apart from this the company is also offering free insurance during the festive season.

The HX and DX variants continue to be available in the same standard paint scheme. Further, you can get a flat cashback of Rs 5000, if you book your Gusto online at Paytm (special variants not available).

Powering the scooter is the same indigenously developed 109.6 cc air cooled surprisingly refined M-Tec engine producing 8 bhp of maximum power at 7,500 rpm and 9 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. It also gets a host of handy features like height adjustable seat, remote flip key, find me lamps and an easy front kick. A quick storage area has also been placed near the instrumentation dash.

Gusto Sales

In terms of sales, Gusto is slowly but surely climbing the charts. For the month of September 2015, it registered total despatches of 9817 units which is just a few units shy of Honda’s Aviator. In the process, it has outsold renowned scooters like TVS Wego, Yamaha Alpha, Suzuki Lets etc.

Apart from this, Mahindra Centuro is being offered at an effective price starting Rs 35,250, and ascertains total discounts of Rs 10,000 on all variants at Paytm.
