GST 2.0: Suzuki Bikes and Scooters Cheaper by Up To Rs 18k

Suzuki has announced a price cut of up to Rs 18,024 on its two-wheeler portfolio, which will come into effect from Sep 22 in India.

Suzuki 2-Wheelers India has reduced the price of its entire model line-up by up to Rs 18k, including scooters and motorcycles, in the country. The company has passed the complete benefits of the 2025 GST reforms to the buyers by announcing a downward revision of the vehicle and spare parts prices. The GST 2.0, which comes into effect from Sep 22, will see bikes and scooters with engine capacity up to 350cc placed in the 18 percent tax slab from the earlier 28 percent category. Hence, most of the Suzuki models have become cheaper and more accessible.

Beginning with the Gixxer and Gixxer SF, their prices have come down by Rs 11,520 and Rs 12,311, respectively, in the Indian market. Presently, Suzuki Gixxer and SF models are priced at Rs 1.38 lakh and Rs 1.47 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. But with the rationalized taxation under GST 2.0, they are likely to be priced at Rs 1.27 lakh and Rs 1.35 lakh, respectively.

Coming to the Gixxer 250 and SF 250, the duo has become more economical by Rs 16,525 and Rs 18,024, respectively. Currently, Suzuki Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250 come at price points of Rs 1.98 lakh and 2.07 lakh. However, with the revised GST rates, the prices of these models are likely to be around Rs 1.82 lakh and 1.89 lakh, respectively. Last but not the least, the V-Strom SX price has been slashed by up to Rs 17,982 in the country.

Talking about the scooter range, the range-topping Burgman Street EX gets the maximum price cut of Rs 9,798 while the standard Burgman Street variants have become more affordable by up to Rs 8,373. As for the Access 125, it witnesses a reduction in price by up to Rs 8,523. The Avenis gets the least reduction in price of Rs 7,823 in the Indian market.

Apart from announcing a price cut for its two-wheeler range, Suzuki also stated that the GST benefit on spare parts and accessories will also be directly passed to the customers. It could ease the cost of ownership by lowering the maintenance costs and making the experience of owning a Suzuki model more cost effective.
