GST 2.0: Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles Price Drop Below Rs. 2 Lakh

Jawa and Yezdi have benefitted the most from GST 2.0 as their entire portfolio comes with engine capacity below 350cc in India.

Classic Legends has slashed the prices of Jawa and Yezdi motorcycles in the Indian market, following the announcement of GST 2.0 by the Union Govt. The entire portfolio of Jawa and Yezdi bikes is now priced under Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom) in the domestic market. All the bikes from these two brands come with 293cc and 334cc engines, and hence they have been benefitted the most by the revised GST structure which lowers down the tax on bikes with engine capacity below 350cc from the existing 28 percent to 18 percent.

“The government’s bold and timely GST reforms will bring a tectonic shift for the greater good, echoing the historic transition from 2-stroke to 4-stroke engines. Classic Legends welcomes the GST rationalisation, especially the reduced rate of 18 percent for under-350cc motorcycles, which covers our 293cc and 334cc Jawa and Yezdi performance classics,” said Anupam Thareja, Co-founder of Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles.

Starting with Yezdi, it retails three models in the Indian market namely Roadster, Scrambler and Adventure. Due to the introduction of GST 2.0, the price of aforementioned bikes have been reduced by approx Rs 16,000. Yezdi Roadster price has come down to 1.94 lakh as compared to earlier Rs 2.10 lakh while Yezdi Scrambler revised price stands at 1.95 lakh against the previous Rs 2.12 lakh, followed by Yezdi Adventure which has been priced at Rs 1.98 lakh from the pre-GST 2.0 price of Rs 2.15 lakh.

Coming to Jawa, it has a total of five motorcycles on sale in India namely Jawa 42, Jawa 350, Jawa Bobber, Jawa 42 FJ and Jawa Perak. The entry-level Jawa 42 price has been reduced by Rs 13,511 from the existing Rs 1.73 lakh to Rs 1.59 lakh. The revised price brings it quite close to Royal Enfield Hunter 350 which is priced at Rs 1.50 lakh.

As for the Jawa 350, it will now be retailed at Rs 1.83 lakh as compared to the older price of Rs 1.99 lakh. The Jawa Bobber, priced at Rs 2.09 lakh, can now be availed at Rs 1.93 lakh due to the GST benefits being directly passed on to the buyers by Classic Legends. As for the Jawa 42 FJ which was priced at Rs 2.10 lakh, the buyers will be able to purchase it at Rs 1.94 lakh.

Last but not the least, the most expensive model across the entire Jawa-Yezdi portfolio, the Jawa Perak will have a new price of Rs 2 lakh, down from 2.17 lakh. Hence, we can see that all the motorcycles of Jawa and Yezdi will now be more accessible to a wider range of buyers due to the price cut announced by the company. Classic Legends further stated that it will extend 100 percent benefits of GST 2.0 rationalisation in after-sales components to the customers.
