KTM 390 Adventure new software update will add new Riding Modes to older models.. It will fix many issues and complaints of existing owners..
Yes, It’s true!!
KTM is offering the previous-gen Adventure 390 (2019-2021) models with the software update that will add the recently debuted Riding Modes to these bikes. This new update will add – Street & Off-Road – riding modes to the older generation 39o Adventure models.
Previous-Gen KTM 390 Adventure To Get New Riding Modes
So, there was one persistent complaint from the previous-gen 390 Adventure owners, which finally the company has addressed with the updated 2022 version of 390 Adventure.
In the older models, whenever the rider would select the ‘off-road ABS mode’ during the off-road excursions, the bike would reset itself back to default ABS-On functions in the event of tip-over/fall or ignition switch-off.
Then the rider would have to navigate through the display all the way through and again switch the off-road ABS toggle on. It became quite cumbersome, and irritating, according to many owners.

KTM heard this complaint of their customers and brought many rectifications in the 2022 Version, along with adding stronger & lighter alloys. The biggest improvement brought is the addition of Riding Modes – which also controls the ABS modes of the ADV.
The 2022 390 Adventure now gets 2 Riding Modes – Street & Off-Road – that control the Traction Control System (allowing more rear-wheel slip in off-road) as well as the ABS modes. Furthermore, the setting does not change back to default in the event of tip-over/fall or switching off the ignition.
And now these Riding Modes can be installed on the 2019 – 2021 versions of KTM 390 Adventure bikes. These bikes can receive official software free of charge if under warranty or for Rs. 236/- if out of warranty.
KTM India is yet to officially announce the roll-out and installation of this software update. However, consider this as heads-up and you as the owner of the previous-gen 390 Adventure model can reach out to your respective dealerships to get the new software update installed on your ADV.
