Suzuki’s faired Gixxer, which goes by the name Gixxer SF, is scheduled to launch on April 7, 2015 in India. The bike has already reached a few dealerships as these pics (credit: Suzuki Gixxer Facebook Group) suggest. Suzuki has officially opened bookings of the bike and now the brochure of the bike has also leaked onto the internet. Although the pictures of the brochure, posted by Motorbeam.com are very low resolution, we will try to list whatever we can make out of them.
The new faired Gixxer gets the same 154.9 cc engine found on the naked and it continues with SEP (Suzuki Eco Performance). The naked Gixxer churns out 14.8 PS of power at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm and Motorbeam claims that the SF carries the same power and torque figures.
Suzuki Lists the following as the prime features of Gixxer SF
- Sports Fairing
- LED Tail Lamps
- 7-Step adjustable Rear Monoshock suspension
- Clear Lens indicators
- Digital Instrumentation with Gear indicator and RPM meter etc
Going by one of the dealership pic, Gixxer SF continues to be a carburetted unit and there is no rear disc brake, even as an optional extra. According to Suzuki, this is a ‘Pro’ level bike and hopefully they have continued with the brilliance they offered on the naked Gixxer, ironing out minor niggles.
Gixxer SF will be available in three colour options, all of which we have seen in spy pics.
- Metallic Triton Blue
- Pearl Mirage White
- Glass Sparkle Black
Gixxer is priced at about Rs 83,000 on road in Delhi and the SF, since the basic hardware is not much different, is expected to be priced at about Rs 87,000-88,000 on road. We really loved Gixxer during our Road Test and hope the SF carries the legacy forward…
