Electric Two-Wheeler Sales Sep 2026: TVS, Bajaj, Ather, Vida, Ola

The electric two-wheeler industry recorded its highest-ever monthly sales in Sep 2026 as retail volumes surpassed 2.07 lakh units

The electric two-wheeler sales jumped to an all-time high of 2.07 lakh units in September 2026 from 1.10 lakh units during the same month last year. The e2w indsutry grew by 88.7 percent on a YoY basis. In fact, the MoM (month-on-month) sales also surged by 13.2 percent as 1.83 lakh units were retailed in August 2026. The share of pure electric models in the overall two-wheeler sales stood at 11.6 percent, which indicates that more than one in nine two-wheelers sold was a electric in September 2026.

“Festive demand, maturing running-cost economics, a widening choice of models and sustained policy support through PM E-DRIVE and progressive state schemes are together turning the EV from an alternative into a default consideration for a growing set of buyers. This is no longer a subsidy-led story; it is a demand-led one. Electric mobility is now a durable thread of the India Growth Story — and September shows it accelerating, not plateauing,” said FADA President Mr. Sai Giridhar.

TVS Motor Company continued to lead the segment with total sales of 54,037 units in Sep 2026 with a YoY growth of nearly 126 percent. The brand had retailed 23,924 units during the same month last year. It was closely followed by Bajaj Auto with sales of 48,429 units last month with a YoY growth of 139 percent as 20,274 units were retailed in September 2025.
