Almost every major electric two-wheeler brand, barring Ola Electric, registered their best-ever yearly sales in 2025
The electric two-wheeler industry has been flourishing at a rapid pace with each passing year in India. In 2025, more than 12.8 lakh EVs were sold in the domestic market at a YoY growth of 11 percent. The electric two-wheelers accounted for 56 percent of the total EVs (22.7 lakh) sold across all the segments in the Indian market last year. Just so you know, the market share of the electric two-wheelers increased from 6.07 percent in 2024 to 6.30 percent in 2025 in the overall two-wheeler sales which stood at 20.29 million units.
TVS Motor Company emerged as the biggest e2w brand in India by toppling Ola Electric from the topmost position. It ended Ola’s three-year long streak at the top by retailing a total of 2,98,867 units in 2025. The homegrown brand topped the sales charts 8 times in monthly sales numbers while commanding a healthy market share of 23 percent in this segment, which is up by 4 percent from the existing 19 percent in 2024. It barely missed out on achieving the 3 lakh sales milestone.

The second spot was occupied by yet another legacy brand in the form of Bajaj Auto. The Pune-based company sold 2,69,836 units last year with a YoY growth of 39 percent while the market share was at 21 percent. It surpassed the 2 lakh units and 2.50 lakh units sales milestone for the first time despite facing production issues in July-August due to the unavailability of rare earth magnets.

Ather Energy pipped Ola Electric by a very narrow margin of 1,469 units to capture the third slot in the electric two-wheeler segment. It crossed the 2 lakh sales milestone for the first time by selling 2,00,795 units with a YoY growth of 59 percent. The Rizta family e-scooter accounted for over 70 percent of the total company sales as its market share improved from 11 percent in 2024 to 16 percent in 2025.
Ola Electric sales fell flat in 2025 as the company couldn’t even touch the 2 lakh sales mark and had to stay content with 1,99,316 units. Just so you know, the Bengaluru-based EV startup had retailed 4,07,700 units in 2024 and hence, its market share was down by more than 50 percent. Positioned at the fourth spot in the list, the market share came down to 15.57 percent in 2025 from 35 percent in 2024.

Last but not the least, Hero MotoCorp’s electric arm Vida had a sensational sales performance last year as it crossed the 1 lakh units milestone for the first time. The total sales stood at 1,09,167 units with a YoY growth of 150 percent. The Vida VX2 posted strong sales with volumes surpassing 10,000 units each month after July 2025 onwards with October recording the highest at 16,027 units.
