The Indian customer is adapting really quickly to the changing norm where Electrically powered vehicles are coming up rapidly as the newest mobility solution of the future.
A higher percentage of the youth population who are very adaptable to new technology along with surging fuel prices have led to a significant rise in electric two-wheeler sales.
However, numerous recent incidents of fires have shaken the confidence of current and prospective customers. Have and will these incidents affect the sales of electric two-wheelers???
The monthly sales numbers might hold the answers.
Let’s take a look at how the major players fared in the month of June 2022.
Month-over-Month Sales
Other than Hero Electric & Revolt, all the electric manufacturers again showed good growth looking MoM.
- Okinawa Autotech – Okinawa occupies the top spot in sales. However, they saw a 21.51% dip in sales when compared to May 2022 sales. They sold 6,976 units in June.
- Ampere Vehicles – Ampere occupies the second position in terms of June sales. They saw a growth of 18.18% MoM, selling 6,534 units.
- Hero Electric – Hero Electric is the manufacturer that saw the highest growth of all. Hero Electric saw a growth of a massive 136.80% MoM.
- Ola Electric – Ola Electric dropped 2 positions to occupy the 4th spot in sales. Their sales dropped by 34.47%, only registering 5,689 units in June 2022.
- TVS iQube – With the introduction of 3 new variants of the iQube electric scooter, TVS saw a growth of 76.98% MoM, selling 4,667 units in the previous month.
- Ather Energy – Ather Energy slipped by one position, but saw a growth of 22.56%, registering 3,797 units sold.
- Revolt Intellicorp – Occupying the last position in sales, Revolt sales are up by 52.62%, registering 2,419 units sold in June 2022.
