A total of 173,294 electric two-wheelers have been retailed till July 29, 2026 as per the government data available on Vahan portal
The electric two-wheeler registrations have witnessed a jump by 68 percent on a YoY basis with 173,294 units retailed in July 2026, as per the data available on Vahan portal till July 29. Although the MoM volumes declined by 11 percent as 194,300 units were dispatched in June 2026. TVS Motor Company continued to lead the pack with 47,242 registrations while Bajaj Auto retained the second position with 38,974 registrations. Ola Electric retailed 11,880 units in July as it managed to find a place in the top 5 electric brands in India.
First things first, TVS maintained the leadership position with 47,242 registrations while the market share soared up from 24.3 percent in June 2026 to 27.3 percent in July 2026. Bajaj Auto remained the second biggest electric two-wheeler brand with 38,974 registrations and a 22.5 percent market share. Ather Energy occupied the third position with 25,907 units and a 14.9 percent share.
Hero MotoCorp was ranked as the fourth biggest e2w brand as 18,611 Vida electric scooters were sold till July 29 with market share of 10.7 percent. “June was a strong month because of discounts and promotional schemes. With many of those offers ending, July saw a normalisation in volumes. We expect demand to pick up again as companies roll out festive season offers, Overall we are seeing good demand within India and outside,” an industry source told Moneycontrol.

Last but not the least, Ola Electric secured the fifth position with 11,880 units. However, the market share further slid down to 6.9 percent in July 2026 from 8.3 percent in June 2026. The brand had a market share of 18 percent and 18.6 percent in May 2025 and June 2025, respectively. Though, the company has significantly improved its sales tally from 4,035 units in February 2026, which was its lowest-ever monthly sales.
Apart from these five mainstream brands, ‘others’ contributed to 30,680 registrations, which accounts for 17.7 percent of total industry volumes against 34,308 units in June 2025. Despite the MoM decline in sales, July 2026 registrations were substantially higher as compared to 105,620 units recorded in May 2025 and 111,441 units in June 2025.

The electric two-wheeler segment posted sales of more than 1.50 lakh units for the fourth time in the last five months. In June 2026, the e2w share in the two-wheeler segment touched double-digits for the first time. In the coming months, the overall monthly sales of electric two-wheelers is likely to breach the 2 lakh mark due to the arrival of several new affordable models.
