EICMA 2025: Hero’s First Electric Motorcycle Debut Confirmed

The upcoming Hero Vida electric bike will directly rival Ola Roadster X, Revolt RV400 and Oben Rorr EZ Sigma in the Indian market

Hero MotoCorp will unveil its first-ever electric motorcycle at the EICMA 2025 under the Vida badge on Nov 4 in Milan, Italy. The home-grown two-wheeler brand had teased the upcoming electric bike for a brief moment in time at its official Instagram handle, but it was taken down immediately for reasons best known to Hero. However, we have the teaser image of the Hero Vida Ubex electric motorcycle concept, which is likely to break cover next week in Milan, Italy. Let’s talk about the upcoming Hero bike in India in detail.

The teaser image shows the silhouette of the upcoming Hero Vida Ubex concept and needless to mention, it appears to be a street naked electric motorcycle. The road-biased Ubex electric bike is likely to be equipped with USD front suspension and a monoshock unit at the rear. It is expected to come with disc brakes at both ends while riding on alloy wheels.

Hero Vida Ubex electric bike teaser image further confirms the inclusion of a mid-drive motor with battery pack. This indicates that both the motor and battery will be put at the same place as the traditional petrol engine. For those asking, Hero MotoCorp has partnered with Zero Motorcycles – an American electric two-wheeler brand – to develop multiple electric models with performance similar to 350cc and above motorcycles.

The electric motorcycles co-developed by Hero and Zero are expected to break cover in 2026-27. Though it cannot be confirmed independently if the Ubex concept is also one of these models. The ‘Ubex’ moniker could be derived from the word ‘Urbex’ which stands for urban exploration and a possible clue that the upcoming Hero electric motorcycle could be targetting urban buyers with city-focused performance.

Hero MotoCorp is not the only two-wheeler company which is working on electric motorcycle but several other leading brands such as Royal Enfield, Ather Energy and Bajaj Auto are developing a portfolio of electric bikes. While Royal Enfield has come up with Flying Flea C6, Ather is working on a new platform christened as Zenith for its upcoming electric motorcycle range.

Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 is said to return performance equivalent to a 350cc ICE-powered motorcycle. Similarly, Ather will develop multiple electric motorcycles with performance identical to 125-300cc ICE bikes. Hence, it is safe to assume that Hero’s upcoming electric motorcycle will also be in the same ballpark as far as performance is concerned.
