Eric Buell Racing has showcased its latest offering 1190SX, at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The bike is the naked streetfighter version of the 1190RX unveiled last year. The motorcycle is looks exactly the same as its faired sibling and will obviously get the same engine as the RX.
The older RX produces 187.56 PS of max power and 137.8Nm of torque. While EBR has not revealed any data about the figures for the SX, but it can be expected to be a few notches lower than the RX. Being a streetfighter, it also sports a higher tubular handlebar (while the RX had a low slung clip on handles). The seat also seems to be more comfortable.
It carries over the same (though rather dull looking) instrumentation cluster and the breathtakingly gorgeous LED head lamps. The multi-level traction control will also be present to keep the bike under control. Engineers at Eric Buell Racing are still working on their ABS system and it will be made available as and when it is ready. The bike will be sold in three colors – red, white and black.
More details about the bike will be made public in July and the bike can be expected to hit dealerships by the end of summer. In terms of pricing, the EBR 1190SX is believed to be a $1000 cheaper than the EBR 1190RX, which retails at $18,995 (Rs 11.27 lakh). The company is also believed to be working on an adventure version, which they will call AX, on the same 1190 series.
