Ducati India hosted its first official Desmo Owners Club meet in Mumbai with a ride. Unlike the groups by other manufacturers, the Desmo Owners Club will not just allow Ducati owners to be a part of it, but other manufacturers as well.
The name Desmo comes from Ducati’s famous Desmodromic valve control. The club represents the heart of the Italian manufacturer’s loyal and passionate community of owners celebrating their hunger for riding. With over 200 official clubs and 23,000 registered members, the Desmo Owners Club, also known as DOC, is one of the largest official motorcycle community in the world.
The Mumbai DOC is the first in the country and the 25th in the continent. Here’s what Dr Ashutosh Palep, President of the Mumbai DOC had to say on the occasion:
“We are very excited to start the very first Indian Desmo Owners Club in Mumbai. The club is dedicated to bringing together motorcyclists who share a passion for Ducati and riding and focuses heavily on safety so that we promote an enjoyable lifestyle. I look forward to riding with the growing community of Ducatisti in and around Mumbai.”
The club will help members get together under one umbrella to enjoy new experiences, discover amazing places and take part in exciting events in India and around the world. In fact eight DOC Mumbai members are travelling to the 9th edition of World Ducati Week, at the Misano World Circuit in Italy. Enthusiasts from around to world will be present to celebrate Ducati’s 90th anniversary.
After Mumbai, DOC will roll out in Pune, Delhi and Bangalore.
