Ducati India has introduced the Multistrada 1200 Pikes Peak for Rs 20.06 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Based on the Multistrada 1200 S, this new model is the result of the brand’s successful experience at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in Colorado, United States. The bike gets not just visual upgrades but several mechanical changes as well.
The bike will be available at all Ducati dealerships in the country which includes the cities of Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore. Powering it is the same 1,198.4 cc L-twin Testastretta mill with Desmodromic Variable Timing churning out 157.8 bhp of maximum power at 9,500 rpm and 136 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. The front suspension in the Pikes Peak version include upside down 48 mm Ohlins forks with TTX36 setup by the same brand in the rear. Both of these are fully adjustable.
Braking duties are looked after by two 330 mm semi floating discs in the front with radially mounted Brembo Monobloc Evo M50 four piston callipers and a 265 mm disc in the rear with two piston floating callipers. She weighs just 231 kg (wet) of course gets cornering ABS and adjustable seat height (825 to 845 mm) as standard.
Here in India you also get the Ducati Performance Termignoni carbon fibre silencer to enhance the motorcycle’s competitive spirit. Other technological aides include Ducati Wheelie Control, Ducati Traction Control and Cruise Control. Visually she gains a special white, red and black livery with a Ducati red chassis.
